Florida Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs' Executive Director, Joe Davis, was recently named Megan Ellis Alliance Director of the Year by the national Boys & Girls Clubs of America organization during the National BGCA Conference in Atlanta, Georgia.

The extremely competitive award takes into account the work of an Alliance professional in areas of funding, board management, collaboration, member feedback, and more. In a competitive field of nominees this year, the nominations (multiple!) received for Davis and the comments of nearly every CEO in the state made him rise to the top.

Over the past year, Davis has led the Florida Alliance's board and staff to secure the organization's highest-ever award from the State of Florida at $18.5 million, as well as organize other funding opportunities for member Club organizations for Club beautification, student field trips and teen center enhancement. The organization has also expanded partnerships over the last year to offer scholarships to Club youth; host trainings and professional development for Club staff in grant writing, behavior management, and Club financial management; and summer food service support.

Davis joined the Florida Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs as Executive Director in 2019.
