Dr. Kevin Perry was appointed to the Board of Directors for Florida Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs last Wednesday. Dr. Perry is a representative of the membership organization Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Lucie County, and serves as the president of their local Board of Directors.

With his appointment, Dr. Perry brings a wealth of knowledge regarding K-12 education. Perry began his 30+ years career in education as a band and orchestra director in Little Rock, Arkansas before assuming the role of band director at Westwood High School in Fort Pierce, Florida. During his tenure there, he was honored as the St. Lucie County School District's Teacher of the Year.

Perry has also served as an assistant principal and principal of St. Lucie schools, and now serves as the Assistant to the Superintendent of the St. Lucie Public Schools. There, he is liaison and coordinator between the superintendent's office and external community organizations.

"Dr. Perry brings a wealth of passion for the Alliance's mission to the board," said Joe Davis, Executive Director for the Florida Alliance of Boys & Girls Clubs. "His knowledge and enthusiasm will be a real asset as we continue to make a difference for Florida's youth in the state's Boys & Girls Clubs."

Perry joins fourteen other directors from across Florida and the country, many of which have enjoyed long relationships with either their local or the national Boys & Girls Clubs organization.
